Your first day: the welcome card and the four pillars

What the dashboard shows the first time you open it: a welcome, four places to start, and your free Emergency Card. Nothing has to be finished at once.

Written by Brian Fluhr

The first time you open your dashboard, it does not open with a wall of tools. It opens with a welcome that uses your name and one line: Make yourself at home.

There is often a short Welcome video on Home. Many browsers start it with sound off. Tap the video to unmute. Full steps: Can't hear the Welcome video on Home.

Four places to start

Underneath are four pillars. Tap any of them to go there, in any order:

  • My Home, Step by Step. The household plan, beginning with a room check and your emergency contacts.

  • Family & Friends Circle. The people you invite, and what each of them can see.

  • Daily Health & Medicines. The daily check-in, your medicines, and how you are feeling.

  • Joy, Activities & Hobbies. Games, exercise videos, hobbies, and the rest of the small good things.

There is no rush and nothing you have to finish all at once. The card says so, and it means it.

Your Emergency Card is on the card too

Before you have filled it in, the same card says Your Free Emergency Card is Ready, marked Your Free Gift, Free Forever and No subscription needed. Once you have saved your contacts and medical details, that spot changes to Your Emergency Card is Active, Saved to your account.

That is the one thing worth doing on day one if you do nothing else, because it is the thing a stranger would need first.
