Camera will not open on Room Safety Check

If Take a Picture on Room Safety Check will not open the camera. Not for Circle video calls. Try library, check Chrome/Safari camera permission, try Safari once, then ask a human.

To use Room Safety Check, sign in first.

This article is only for the Room Safety Check photo step inside SeniorThrive (the page where you photograph a room). It is not about video calls with family or friends.

Where you should be

Open My Home, then Room Safety Check. You will see two photo tiles:

  • Take a Picture opens the camera.

  • Use Photos I Have (or Photo Library) picks a photo you already have.

If Take a Picture does nothing

On some phones and tablets, especially Chrome on iPhone or iPad, tapping Take a Picture can fail quietly. Nothing is wrong with you. Try these in order:

  1. Tap Use Photos I Have / Photo Library and choose a clear photo of the room.

  2. Check camera permission for the browser you are using: iPhone or iPad Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera, then make sure the browser (Chrome, Safari, or another) is allowed. On Android, check the browser app permissions for Camera.

  3. If you are in Chrome on an iPhone or iPad and the camera still will not open, open SeniorThrive in Safari once and try the same Room Safety Check again.

  4. If none of that works, reply in chat and ask for a human. Say you are on Room Safety Check and the camera will not open. Do not follow video-call or Circle call steps for this issue.

What this is not

Room Safety Check photos are not the same as a Circle video call. Help about mute, restarting a call, or Family & Friends → Video Calls does not apply here.
