This page explains how it works. The tool itself is inside your SeniorThrive account.
Books is where you find your next read. From free classics to bestsellers, there is plenty waiting.
Where to find it
Open Activities and choose Books.
Finding something
Titles are gathered into categories so you can browse by what you are in the mood for rather than hunting through everything at once.
The free classics are worth a look even if you think you know them. A book you were made to read at school is often a different book entirely when you come back to it with a life behind you.
Keeping a reading list
You can keep a list of what you would like to read next, so a title you liked the look of is still there when you finish your current book.
A list of two or three is plenty. The pleasure is in having something ready, and a long list can start to feel like homework.
Reading in comfort
If print has become tiring, that is worth working with rather than around. Larger text, better light, and reading at the time of day when your eyes are freshest all make a real difference.
If reading has become harder than it used to be, that is worth mentioning to your doctor or an eye doctor. An appointment often turns reading back into a pleasure.
Something to share
Books travel well between people. Reading the same one as a grandchild, or as a friend, gives you something to talk about that belongs to both of you.
It is a nice thing to mention on a video call, and an easy answer when someone asks what you have been doing.
No pressure to finish
Putting a book down is allowed. Life is short and there are plenty of others.
There is no record of what you abandoned and nothing keeping score. Read what you enjoy, for as long as you enjoy it.
