What it is

Collections from major museums, there to browse whenever you like. No ticket, no queue, no travelling, and no closing time.

You can sit with a painting for as long as you want, which is something a gallery visit rarely allows. Many people find they see more this way than they ever did shuffling past in a crowd.

Keeping the ones you love

Pieces you particularly like can be pinned so they are easy to find again, and unpinned later if you change your mind.

A small collection of your own is a lovely thing to build slowly. It also gives you something ready to hand when a grandchild asks what you have been up to.

Ways to enjoy it

A few minutes at a time suits this beautifully. One painting you really look at will stay with you far longer than a whole gallery passed quickly.

It is also good company for a quiet afternoon, and it gives you something to talk about that is not health, weather or family news. If you are on a video call with a grandchild, a painting you both look at is an easy and genuinely enjoyable thing to share.

If art has never been your thing

You do not need to know anything about art to enjoy this. There is no background required and nothing to understand first.

Look until something catches your eye, and let the rest go by. Liking a picture because of its colours is as good a reason as any that a critic could give you.
