To use Things I Need, sign in first.
This page explains how it works. The tool itself is inside your SeniorThrive account.
Things I Need is a simple running list of what you are running low on. You add something, your family sees it, and somebody gets it ordered.
Where to find it
Open My Day and choose Things I Need.
Why it exists
Asking for things is the part people find hard. Not the milk, exactly, but the accumulation of small asks, and the feeling of being a list of errands to the people you love.
A written list turns that into something ordinary. You add it when you notice it, nobody has to remember a phone call, and nobody has to ask you three times whether you need anything.
Adding something
Tap Add something I need, type it, then tap Add to my list. That is the whole thing.
Before you have added anything, the page simply says Your list is empty, waiting for your first item.
Add things as you notice them rather than saving them up. The whole value of this is that it catches the thing you would otherwise forget by evening.
Who sees it
The people in your Circle. That is the point of it, and the page says so plainly: your family sees your list and helps get it ordered.
If you would rather keep something to yourself, keep it off this list. There is no private setting here, because a private shopping list nobody can read would not do anything for you.
What it is not
It does not order anything. Nothing is bought, nothing is charged, and no shop is contacted. It is a list your family can read, and a person still has to go and get the thing.
It is also not a message. If something is urgent, say so directly rather than adding it here and hoping somebody looks today.
Getting the most out of it
Be specific where it matters. "Milk" is fine. "The blue-top milk, not the green" saves a second trip and a small disappointment.
Add the boring things too. Batteries, stamps, bin bags, the specific bulb for the lamp in the hall. Those are exactly the items that get forgotten in a phone call and noticed at the worst moment.
