What stays private no matter what?

Two things are never shared with anyone, whatever the sharing settings say: what you say to your AI companion, and My Private Documents. Here is the exact line.

Written by Brian Fluhr

Most of what SeniorThrive holds is shareable, and you decide who sees what, area by area. Two things are different. They are not switches you have to find and turn off. They are never shared, with anyone, and there is no setting that changes that.

What you say to your companion

Your conversations with an AI companion are yours. Nobody in your Circle can read them. Not a family member, not a Family Advocate, not a professional caregiver.

There is one thing your family can see, and only if you allow it: that you chatted. Not a word of what you said. If you would rather they did not even see that, you can switch it off, and then they see nothing at all.

A professional caregiver never sees either part, whatever you choose.

This matters because a companion is only useful if you can say the true thing. A bad night. A worry you do not want to hand to your daughter yet. That is the point of it, and it does not work if somebody is reading over your shoulder.

My Private Documents

Anything you keep in My Private Documents is yours alone. No family member, no advocate, no caregiver, no setting.

Worth knowing alongside it: SeniorThrive is a locator, not a vault. We help you record where your important papers live, the drawer, the safety deposit box, the attorney's office, rather than holding the documents themselves. Less for anyone to lose, including us.

The other direction: what is shared without you asking

For balance, two things go the other way. Emergency information and home-safety items like Room Checks are shared with your Circle by default, because they are what matters when something goes wrong.

And in a genuine emergency, SeniorThrive may share the minimum needed to help you even with someone you have set to see nothing. That is deliberate, and it is the one place your settings are overridden.

Everything else is yours to set
