My Documents: the vault for the papers your family will need

A will, an insurance policy, a power of attorney. My Documents keeps them in one place so the people supporting you can find what they need without searching a filing cabinet.

My Documents is your secure personal vault for the important papers your family, your caregivers, or your doctors may one day need. A will. An insurance policy. Medical history. A power of attorney.

The point of keeping them here is simple. When someone needs one of these, they usually need it quickly, and usually at a bad moment. Having them in one place means nobody is searching a filing cabinet or calling around.

The documents dashboard

A summary panel at the top shows the state of your vault at a glance:

  • Total Documents. How many you have stored across all storage types.

  • Needs Attention. Documents that may have pending updates or need reviewing.

  • Last Activity. The most recent change made to anything in the vault.

  • Essential Docs. A count of recommended documents you have not added yet.

That last number is the useful one. Most people do not have a list in their head of which papers matter, and Essential Docs is that list, counting down.

Where to start if the whole idea feels like a lot

You do not have to fill this in one sitting, and an empty vault is not a failing.

If you want one place to begin, begin with whatever a stranger would need in an emergency. That is usually insurance and any document naming who speaks for you. The rest can come later, one afternoon at a time.

Who can see them

You decide. Sharing works the same way as everything else in SeniorThrive, through your Circle, and you can change what each person sees at any time from Privacy and Sharing in Preferences.

Storing a document here does not share it with anyone.
