Account settings: where everything lives in Preferences

Your account details live in Preferences, reached from your account menu. Here is what is on each tab, how to change your email or password, and how to download your data.

Your account details live in Preferences, reached from your account menu. Almost everything you might want to change is on one of six tabs.

What is on each tab

  • Display. Text size and how the app looks.

  • Devices and Setup. A watch, a tracker, or a calendar you have connected.

  • Privacy and Sharing. What each person in your Circle can see.

  • What's Shared With You. The other direction, if someone has shared with you.

  • Notifications. Which notifications you get.

  • Account. Your name, email, phone, plan, and billing.

Changing your details

Open the Account tab, edit the field you want, and save.

One important exception. Changing the email address you sign in with does not take effect immediately. We send a confirmation to the new address first, and you have to confirm there before the change goes through.

That matters more than it sounds. If you enter the new address with a typo, the confirmation goes somewhere you cannot reach, and your sign-in email quietly stays as it was. If you changed your email and it does not seem to have worked, check the new inbox for a confirmation before assuming anything is broken.

Your plan and billing

The Account tab shows which plan you are on and your billing history. You can change plan or update your payment method from there.

If you cannot sign in at all

Preferences is behind the sign-in page, so none of the above helps if you are locked out. If the problem is your password, see Resetting your password, which you can do yourself.

If the problem is that your account is under an email address you no longer have access to, that one needs a person. Write to [email protected] from any address you can reach, and tell us the email you think the account uses, the address you want it changed to, and your full name.
