A suggestion from family can be one of the kindest things you send. Done badly, it is nagging in a new font. SeniorThrive gives you a few gentle ways to suggest something, and in every one of them your loved one decides.
An idea for their plan
Open Plan in your sidebar. It shows your loved one's plan for living well at home.
If they have not set up their plan yet, you can leave ideas for when they do: a goal in a few words (tap Send this idea), or any part of the plan you think would help (tap Suggest). They see your ideas while setting up and choose each one. Nothing is added unless they say yes.
Once their plan is set up, tap Suggest an idea to [their name], then Suggest next to the step you have in mind. They see it on their plan and decide. Nothing changes unless they say yes.
If they have not joined SeniorThrive yet, your ideas still show as Sent. They wait, and reach their plan the first time you open Today after they join.
If you have used Where Do I Start?, some of the things on your list show Send to [their name]'s plan. That sends the same kind of suggestion.
A time on their calendar
In Connect, Plan together lets you suggest a time on your loved one's calendar. They confirm it before it is added.
Anything else
For a recipe, a video, an article or a photo, send it in Messages, also in Connect, with a line about why you thought of them.
A few unwritten rules
Keep it occasional. When suggestions pile up, they stop being suggestions and start being a to-do list.
Keep medical worries for a conversation. "You should ask your doctor about this" lands better in a phone call than in a suggestion.
Do not follow up on whether they did it. "Did you try it yet?" is a fast way to make the next suggestion unwelcome. Let it land in its own time, or let it pass.
Share things you actually love. A recipe you made last week, a walk you enjoyed, a video that helped your own back. Those land differently from things you think are good for them.
The suggestion is just the wrapper. The real gift is that you were thinking of them.
