Signing up: for a family member

If you are a family member, you can sign up before your loved one is ready. Here is how that works, what it looks like on day one, and when billing actually begins.

If you are a family member worried about a parent or loved one, here is something that surprises most people: you do not have to wait for them to sign up. You can create your own SeniorThrive account today, for free, with no time limit, and bring them in when the moment feels right.

That is intentional. Most of the hard part is the conversation, not the software.

Three situations this might be

  • Your loved one is ready. Great. You can sign up side by side, or set up the shared account for them first.

  • Your loved one is hesitant. Common. Sign up yourself, get familiar with the tools, and invite them when you have something real to show.

  • You are scouting. You want to see what SeniorThrive actually is before bringing it up. Also common. Sign up, take the tour, decide.

Step by step

  1. Open your browser and go to app.seniorthrive.com.

  2. Tap Sign up.

  3. Choose I am a family member.

  4. Enter your first name, last name, email, and a password.

  5. Tell us about your relationship to the older adult in your life: their name, their relationship to you, a bit about how you want to help.

  6. Verify your email, and you are in.

When billing begins

This is the part that trips people up. Your account is free until your older adult joins. That may be next week. That may be next year.

Until they join you, you can explore the dashboard, get familiar with the tools, learn the vocabulary, and plan how to introduce it. No ticking clock. No pressure. Your 14 free days have not started yet.

The clean version: no credit card, and no charge until your loved one joins. Your 14 free days start the day they do, and you both get the full 14 together.

After those 14 days, Essential is $29 a month, or $290 a year, and it covers the two of you. If you would rather not continue, your account moves to the Free plan, which is free forever.

What happens next

You will land on your family dashboard. It will feel a little empty until your loved one joins, and that is by design. A separate article, Your first week as a family member, walks through what to do in those early days, even before they are on board.

If you have more than one older adult you are helping, you can add additional Circles later. One account, multiple loved ones.

Siblings, too

Essential covers you and your loved one. Siblings and anyone else you want in the circle join as added seats: $10 a month each for the first three, then $5 a month for anyone after that.

That means your brothers and sisters can be on the same dashboard, seeing the same picture, and everyone stops playing phone tag. Invite them from your dashboard when you are ready.
